Rule Changes By Carol O’Meara
At their meeting on April 4, 2011, the CHJA Board approved changes/clarifications to several of the Year End Awards:
- The qualifying divisions for the Group I Best Young Child Rider will include Pony Jumpers.
-
The awards for Group I Best Young Child Rider and Group II Best CHJA Child Rider, Best Beginner Child Rider, Best CHJA Adult Rider, and Best Beginner Adult Rider will be calculated by adding the highest number of hunter points in one qualifying hunter division
and the highest number of equitation points in one qualifying equitation division.
- The Ruth Ayers Memorial Trophy, used as the award for Hunter of the Year since 2007 will be returned to its original designation as the award for Horse of the Year. The Horse of the Year will be selected by the Board of Directors voting by secret ballot from among the winners of the Junior Horse of the Year, Amateur Owner Horse of the Year, Hunter of the Year, and Jumper of the Year.
- A new trophy will be donated for Hunter of the Year.
- Year End Award Winners, except those voted upon by the board or membership, will be posted on the Web Site prior to the banquet to allow for any disputes to be resolved before the awards are presented.
Please contact Carol O’Meara for questions or to receive a copy of the revised specifications for these awards.
