By: Tori Weed, CHJA Jr Committee Member

CHJA wants to congratulate and wish good luck to all Colorado junior riders heading to IEA Nationals April 20-22 in Syracuse, NY. Everyone worked hard all season and we’re excited to watch them represent Colorado in New York this year. Read below to hear a couple of our qualified riders talk about what they’re most excited about for IEA Nationals.

Rider: Stephany McConnell

Class: Varsity Challenge

I am definitely excited to see all the different types of horses for sure! and i also can not wait to see all the amazing riders that have gotten there by their hard work, sweat and tears! And I can’t wait to for the draw to see what horse i will get to be riding and it’s going to be excited going into that arena and showing and just doing your best!

Rider: Carley Smith

Class: Varsity 2’6 Flat

I'm very excited to go to Nationals because it's my last year as a junior and it would be a great way to end my time in IEA. I am excited and a little nervous to see what competing at IEA Nationals looks like, the horses, the competition etc. I also get to see some friends who have qualified from different states which is always fun!

Rider: Brynn Carroll

Class: Junior Varsity Novice Flat

I am so excited to be competing in IEA Nationals again. Last year I competed in over fences so to be riding flat this time is really exciting. I think the best part about going to IEA Nationals is riding with so many talented riders. When you get this far its important to still remember to have fun because you made it!

Rider: Amanda Walsh

Class: Intermediate 2’ Over Fences (Middle School)

I'm so excited for IEA Nationals! I can't wait to meet new friends, compete in the 2ft for the first time, ride new horses, and the sightseeing!

Rider: Dominic Gibbs

Class: Varsity 2’6 Over Fences

I am most excited for the opportunity to represent Colorado and Zone 8 at a national level. I am also excited to meet new friends and see old friends. This is my second time to IEA Nationals and first time at the Varsity Open level. I am happy to have past experience guide me but excited about what new challenges I'll face.

Rider: Bailey Canale

Class: Future Beginner Flat

I am just so excited to go and I am so glad to be part of the Front Range Equestrian team, they are a fun group of girls

CHJA wishes to congratulate all IEA riders from the past 2017-2018 show season, and good luck to the ones heading to Nationals to represent Colorado!
