USHJA Zone 7 & 8 Team, Individual Jumper and Hunter Championships Held at Colorado Horse Park
Top Junior and Adult jumper riders from Zone 7 and Zone 8 competed in both Team and Individual Jumper and Hunter Championships at Colorado Horse Park from June 28th-July 1st. 2018 Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athlete’s Program Regional Training Session Held at Colorado Horse Park
From July 31st thru August 4th, the EAP Regional Training Session for the 2018 Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athlete’s Program was held at Colorado Horse Park. Sixteen U-25 riders were selected to participate in the training session led by Julie Winkel and Nanci Snyder. The Plaid Horse Magazine offered an informative overview of the training session HERE.
New Features and Format at 2018 USHJA World Championship Hunter Rider Professional Finals
USHJA recently announced changes to the head-to-head based competition known as the WCHR Pro Finals, held each year at The Capital Challenge Horse Show. Starting in 2018, the class will now feature a “Playoff” format, a possible wild card spot, as well as the top four riders from the first 2 rounds facing off in a Final Four competition. Changes Made to USHJA 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal for 2019 Competition Year
Recently, USHJA announced changes for the 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal taking effect on August 2, 2018 for the 2019 competition year. Point tracking will now be aligned with the Jumping Seat Medal Finals, with a qualification period of August 2nd of one competition year to August 1st of the following competition year. New restrictions on eligibility have also been implemented, and a flat phase will now be offered. Finally, the number of points needed to qualify for the USHJA 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal Finals on both the East and West Coasts has now been raised to 15 or more points.
