The Colorado Hunter Jumper Foundation was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in Colorado in May, 2010. The foundation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. CHJF was established to provide educational scholarships, support equine charities, provide achievement opportunities, and provide emergency financial support to individuals and families in the Hunter-Jumper Sport.
Educational funds are awarded to assist in carrying on a program of study. Categories of scholarships are:
The number of Category A and Category B scholarships and the amounts for each scholarship will be determined by the CHJF Board.
Two CHJA Spirit of Excellence Scholarships will be awarded.
The scholarships for 2019 are the Olivia Stordahl Scholarship and the Samantha Duray Scholarship in honor of the winners of the Group I and Group II Spirit of Excellence Awards for 2018.
The amount to be awarded for the CHJA Spirit of Excellence Scholarships will be determined by the CHJA Board.
An additional named scholarship will be the Jim Calareso Memorial Scholarship.
The amount to be awarded for the Jim Calareso Scholarship will be determined by the CHJF Board.
Scholarship applicants will be notified of selection by June 30, 2019. Funds will be disbursed directly to the school.
Application packet must be submitted by May 1, 2019. Packet must include:
1. Application form.
2. Four letters of recommendation :
3. Current year academic record.
4. Statement of equine background.
5. List of community involvement and/or activities.
6. Statement of sense of direction for furthering education.
