2018 Colorado Hunter Jumper Foundation Scholarships:
The Colorado Hunter Jumper Foundation is pleased to announce that several scholarships will be available for 2018. These scholarships are funded in part by donations from the Colorado Hunter Jumper Association and in part by the generosity of CHJA members, family, and friends who participated in the Silent Auction at the Awards Banquet. Special appreciation goes to Franci Martin who coordinated the 2017 auction, and her team of volunteers who made it possible. Scholarship applications must be received by Tuesday, May 1, 2018. 2018 Program Opportunities Through US Equestrian:
US Equestrian Athlete Lettering Program
US Equestrian members in grades 5-12 can apply to receive a varsity letter, equivalent to letters given to student athletes who participate in sports through their school. The program runs from June 1-May 31 of each year, and application requirements are as follows:
- Pay a $15 application fee.
- Log 100 hours of riding from June 1-May 31.
- Provide verification from a minimum of three completed competitions.
- Provide proof of school enrollment.
- Retroactive applications can be accepted, if requirements are met.

2018 Program Opportunities Through USHJA
2018 Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program
Applications are currently open for the 2018 Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program. This program is open to riders ages 25 and under, and includes participation in one of 10 regionally based training sessions with top clinicians and stable managers. At the conclusion of the EAP Regional Training Sessions, 16 riders and a number of stable managers will be selected to participate in the National Training Session. Applications for the EAP Regional Training Session being held at Colorado Horse Park from July 31-August 4, must be received by Monday, May 14, 2018. 2018 USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Challenge, presented by The Plaid Horse
Interested participants ages 21 and under can now register for the 2018 USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Challenge, presented by The Plaid Horse. Participants must register and complete the level 1 horsemanship quiz no later than Saturday, September 1, 2018. Participants who score 80 percent or higher on the level 1 quiz are invited to take the level 2 quiz. Those who score 90 percent or higher on the level 2 quiz are eligible for selection to the Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Nationals. More information can be found HERE.
USHJA Foundation J.T. Tallon Memorial Equitation Grant
Applications for the new USHJA Foundation J.T. Tallon Memorial Equitation Grant are open now through Wednesday, August 1, 2018. This grant provides $1,000 to a junior rider who has qualified for one or more specified national equitation championships. More information about this grant can be found HERE.
