COLORADO HUNTER JUMPER FOUNDATION SERVES HORSE COMMUNITY

We all know the Colorado Hunter Jumper Association exists to serve its members through educational programs, awards and recognition, communications, and rules development and management but did you know our association has a charitable arm?

Formed in May 2010, the Colorado Hunter Jumper Foundation is a 501(c)3 organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. CHJF was established to provide educational scholarships, support equine charities, provide achievement opportunities, and offer emergency financial support to individuals and families in the hunter-jumper sport.

Fundraising for the Foundation is primarily through the annual Silent Auction at the CHJA Awards Banquet. Additional funds have been  received from CHJA,  individual donations, fund raising events at the Estes Park Horse Shows, and donated  income from sales of consigned tack and equipment. The foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We have no paid staff and all of the activities of CHJF are carried out by volunteers.

Since 2011, CHJF has:

  • Awarded nearly $38,000 in scholarships to CHJA members either starting or continuing their post-secondary educations
  • Donated hay to flood victims in 2013
  • Donated to the family of a CHJA member injured in an auto accident, and
  • Donated funds to CHJA for recognition of member achievements
