CHJA HOSTS "CROCKPOT" COOKING CONTEST

The Medal Finals are here and  while the competition in the show ring will be heating up, it also will be behind the scenes with the inaugural CHJA Crockpot Cooking Contest on Saturday afternoon. Winners will be crowned in two categories - Best Main Dish and Best Dessert.

How does it work? Cooking Contest participants will sign up in the office indicating what type of dish they are bringing. Dishes must serve a minimum of 12 people and do not have to be made in a crockpot to be considered. Those wishing to sample the dishes will receive a ticket that they place in a cup in front of their favorite offering. The dish with the most tickets in the Main Dish and Dessert categories will be named the winner.

So are you ready to tap your inner Iron Chef and showcase your mad cooking skills at Medal Finals? We hope so!

BUT WAIT, WHAT IF PHOTOGRAPHY IS YOUR THING?

Once again, CHJA will have a Facebook contest during the Medal Finals. Take a picture of your favorite things at the Medal Finals, use the hashtag #CHJAFinalsFavs, post it to our Facebook page and just like that, you are entered to win some fabulous prizes! Winners are chosen at random and announced on Facebook Thursday-Sunday, 9/17-20. Prizes are in the show office.

OH! AND THERE'S MORE ...

Always wanted to have a great photo of you and your horse? You are in luck. Photographer Mike Sweeney will take still pictures of you posing with your horse Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Photo slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis roughly every 10 minutes. Sign up in the office if you are interested.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE VS PROTOCOL

If you are coming down to show at the Medal Finals, please do not forget we have a specific VS protocol in place to protect our horses. Complete details are available on the CHJA website. Remember if you don't follow the protocol, we will have to ask you to leave the show property and not return.
