The CHJA Board of Directors adopted several Rule Changes at their meeting on October 3, 2022. These rules take effect on December 1, 2022. The updated Rule Book will be available online by November 15, 2022, if not sooner. See the Rule Book for exact wording of the rules. Here is a summary of the changes:
“ EMT” will now be “Qualified Medical Personnel”, defined as an EMT, Paramedic, Certified First Responder, Physician or Registered Nurse trained in pre-hospital Trauma Care, and currently licensed under Colorado law.
Horses must enter the ring at the walk in all CHJA Group 2 Jumper Classes unless a different entry gait is pre-arranged with the gate and the judge is notified. Horses in all Group 2 Jumper Classes must exit the ring at the walk.
The Larkspur Medals, new 2’6” CHJA medals, will be open to all Junior and Amateur Adult riders who have not shown 3’ or Higher in any CHJA or USEF Show during the current medal qualification period. Exhibitors who subsequently show 3’ or higher during the current medal qualification period are no longer eligible to compete in the finals for this medal. The course must include an oxer and two changes of direction after the first fence. No Ins and Outs. Two or more USEF Tests 1-8 must be included in the course. Three properly attired competitors must complete the course in order for qualifying points to count. The first-place rider will receive a CHJA Medal. Distances will not be adjusted for ponies.
To ride in the Larkspur Medal at Medal Finals, 12 points must be earned to qualify. Larkspur Junior and Adult Medal Finals will consist of one round over fences which has two or more USEF Tests 1-8 included in the course and a flat phase. Additional testing may be required at the discretion of the judges.
