Information from the Officials Committee

General Information:

Per CHJA Rule 4.2 A, every CHJA Recognized Show must have a USEF Licensed Steward or a CHJA Approved Rules Representative. The CHJA Officials Committee is charged with determining the criteria and process for approval as a CHJA Rules Representative. USEF Licensed Stewards do NOT need to go through the CHJA approval process.

Criteria:

Approval as a CHJA Approved Rules Representative requires active, good standing membership in CHJA, Safe Sport Certification and meeting at least two (2) of the following criteria:

1. Experience as a Judge, Course Designer, Show Secretary, Show Manager or In-Gate Starter.

2. Experience working with a USEF Steward or a CHJA Approved Rules Representative at at least three (3) CHJA Group II Shows in the past three (3) years.

3. Attendance at a Rules Representative Clinic within the past three (3) years.

4. Provision of three (3) references from individuals in the Colorado hunter/jumper industry.

All applicants for approval must score at least 80% on an open book written test.

Process for approval as a CHJA Approved Rules Representative:

1. Request an application form from justalittlefarm@comcast.net

2. Print , answer, and scan/email back the appropriate test to justalittlefarm@comcast.net.

3. Applications will be reviewed by the Officials Committee and the Officials Committee will either approve, deny, or request additional information.

4. Notification of the committee decision will be sent to the applicant by email. Meeting the criteria and passing the test does not guarantee approval. Final approval is at the discretion of the Officials Committee. Applicants that are denied approval will be given an explanation as to why approval was denied.

Renewal of Approval

Rules Representatives will be required to re-test annually and must score a score of least 80% on an open book written test.
