CHJA is seeking a sponsorship manager for the 2024 season. The sponsorship manager is in charge of sponsorship efforts for CHJA’s annual flagship events - Copper Penny, Fall Finale, Medal Finals, Member Benefits Clinic and Awards Banquet.
About CHJA:
The Colorado Hunter Jumper Association, as the official hunter/jumper Affiliate of United States Equestrian Federation and the United States Hunter Jumper Association, is a competition based sport organization that serves our members through its Four Cornerstones: educational programs, awards and recognition, communication and rules. We provide a wide array of programs for all levels of the hunter/jumper sport, and are mindful of the well-being of our equine partners. We are committed to preserving the history of our sport and the association. Through our Colorado Hunter Jumper Foundation, CHJA supports charitable and benevolent services.
Job duties include:
- Managing renewals with existing sponsorships
- Research, identify, qualify, and prioritize new potential sponsors
- Solicit new sponsorships both in and out of the horse industry
- Point of communication between sponsors, CHJA marketing manager & chair, and respective committee chairs and event managers
- Responsible for collection and management of sponsorship assets
- Management and schedule of promised sponsor assets with marketing committee
- Responsible for all sponsorship activation pre, during and post event
- Responsible for submitting sponsorship invoice requests to CHJA treasurer and bookkeeper
- Work with CHJA to develop sponsorship packages and compelling, unique proposals for sponsors
- Reaching event sponsorship revenue goals for each event
- Attendance and written report for monthly CHJA Board meetings to provide sponsorship updates (via Zoom)
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of sponsorship experience with success in cultivating sponsorships of $2,000 - $10,000
- Prior experience in horse industry is preferred but not mandatory
- A passion for our mission and a desire to create sponsorship opportunities for the Association's events
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and desire to succeed
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Zoom and Google Drive
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with strong prioritization and organization skills
Compensation: Pay will be a 10% commission of sponsorship money received
