 Proposed  2027 Rule Changes

Rule 4.5 Show Secretaries

Add:  C. Show Results must be provided in one of the following formats: USEF File, Excel File, or OrgPro Download. PFs, Word Documents, Screenshots or other document formats will not be accepted.

Rule 7.14  Classics, Stakes, and Prix

Replace  the word “Stakes” with  “Derbies” in the  title and first sentence so that bonus points are given for Classics, Derbies, and Prix.   

Rule 8.5 H Arapahoe Hunter Derby

Change name to Marvin Beeman Memorial Hunter Derby.

Delete all language after “Open to Juniors, Amateurs, and Professionals” .

Add a new sentence: Points will accumulate toward a Special Year End Award and will not be counted towards any other Hunter Award. A perpetual trophy will be presented to the winner.

Rule 11.3 H CHJA Pony Medal

Delete the second sentence “ USEF Rules regarding age of rider apply” .

Rule 11.3.I CHJA Stirrup Medals

Delete the following “The Class accumulates points toward a special year  award. At year end, a perpetual trophy will be presented to the winner.”

Rule 12.4 CHJA Medal Finals Qualifications

Add  Dorothy Roberts Medal and CHJA Stirrup Medals to the list of medals in the second sentence.

Delete the Dorothy Roberts Medal and Stirrup Class at Medal Finals exceptions in the rule.

Rule 12.6 CHJA Medal Finals Format

Delete  “with the exception of the Larkspur Junior and Adult Medals” in the opening paragraph.

Section H. Delete the words: “USEF Rules regarding age of rider apply.” Change “ USEF tests 1-15”

to ” USEF Tests 1-8”

Sections I and J Larkspur Adult and Children’s Medal

Delete all wording for  two phase format  and the wording “additonal testing may be requested at the discretion of the judge. Replace with “Riders called back by the judges will be required to do additonal testing USEF Tests 1-8.

Section K.

Delete.

New Section K. CHJA Short, Medium, and Long Stirrup Medals 2’3”

Riders called back by the judges will be required to do additonal testing USEF Tests 1-8. Any Stirrup Medal may be combined with any  other Stirrup  Medal.

Should Medal Finals Rules be removed from the Rule Book and become Specifications?

Should the Hunter Jumper Finals Specifications for 2026 become Rules for 2027?
