YEAR-END STANDINGS ARE POSTED

Most of the Year-End point standings have been posted to the CHJA website according to Point Counter Kirsten Turner. She also issued a few point counting reminders:
  • If the owner was not a current member w/CHJA for 2016, Hunter/Jumper points for that horse(s) will not count per Rule 7.2: "When a horse is being considered for a year end award, points will only be awarded to horses recorded with CHJA. CHJA member(s) owning a recorded horse must be in good standing with CHJA and USEF. In the case of multiple ownership at least one of the recorded owners must appear on the results and entry blank to receive points."
  • Divisions were combined per Rule 7.19:  "Year end divisions will be split as shown in Rule 7.15, 7.16, 7.17 as long as there are at least Three recorded horses/riders earning points in the smallest section. If this criteria is not met, divisions will be combined for purposes of year end awards."
  • Duplication does change the standings and horses/riders may have been removed if this rule was not followed. Rule 7.18: "A year end award recipient of Champion and/or Reserve Champion loses eligibility for any year end award in a like division of lesser precedence. Exception: A Group 3 Beginner Rider of any age shall have his points tallied toward a Championship at yearend even though the horse/ pony is shown by a different rider at the Group 2 level." See Rule 7.18 for the complete precedence chart.
  • A horse/rider must place at a minimum of 2 shows for the year to be included in the Year End standings. If you only showed in a division once during the year, you will not be reflected in the Year End Standings though you are reflected on the overall Results/Standings pages.
  • Ties were decided per Rule 7.10: "In the event that a Hunter or Equitation division ends in a tie, the winner is the one who has the most over fence points. In the Jumper Division, tied horses must remain tied."

The standings have not been finalized at this time and can be changed if necessary. Contact Kirsten directly if you have any questions so issues can be resolved before the points are final Dec. 7.
